• The Centennial Trail - Many trailheads offer lots of access throughout the Centennial. Leave from Nat'l Cemetery near Sturgis, ride through an open field, then UP. Also left from Lake Sheridan trailhead near Hill City and circled around lake heading for Pactola Reservoir. The Mickleson Trail - Imagine a path where the ghosts of Wild Bill Hickok and Calamity Jane still roam. A path where bicyclists, hikers and horseback riders can explore spruce and pine forests. • Fall River County Museum - 1893 Historical building with exceptional artifacts and memorabilia documenting the history of the Southern Black hills area and Hot Springs. 
• Southern Hills Golf Course - Picked by "Golf Digest" as the #1 nine-hole course in North America! This picturesque course is set within pine covered mountains and offers a challenging game you won't soon forget.

Water Activities:

• Angostura Recreation Area - Camping, fishing, boating, water skiing, picnicking. The best Hot Springs has to offer. 

• Cold Brook Recreation Area - Constructed in 1953, this recreation area is one mile from Hot Springs. Rugged red canyon walls, clear cold water, a clean sandy beach and shady camping areas beckon. 

• Cascade Falls 
• Evans Plunge - World's largest natural warm water indoor swimming pool! Outdoor pool too. Big water slides, Tarzan rings, fun-tubes, pool games, super spa and fitness center. A family must!! 
• Springs Bath House - Springs Bath House is the first bath house to return to the once-famous little town of Hot Springs, South Dakota in more than 60 years. Offers three hot mineral water soaking pools, message center, spa and juice bar. 
• Cottonwood Recreation Area - Located five miles west of Hot Springs in beautiful Minnekahta Valley, this scenic spot is quiet and restful.

• Hot Springs' Historic Sandstone Architecture Walking Tour - FREE 
• The Black Hills Wild Horse Sanctuary - 12 miles south of Hot Springs off Highway 71. Two hour guided bus tours to view the wild Mustangs, ancient Indian petroglyphs, and the Ted Turner movie "Crazy Horse" on-site movie sets. Chuck wagon dinners available. 
• Buffalo Gap National Grassland- The Buffalo Gap National Grassland offer a rich diversity of prairie habitats, including riparian areas, woody draws, shrub lands, juniper breaks and open grasslands. Intermingled private lands add crop lands and shelter belts to the impressive habitat mosaic. A tremendous number of birds, over 230 species—large and small, silent and noisy—spend part of the year here. Prairie birds are predominant and conspicuous, such as the Western meadowlark and Horned lark. Birds of prey find perfect hunting in the open country and can often be seen soaring above the grasslands. Stock ponds and cooperative Ducks Unlimited impoundments have created habitat for waterfowl and shorebirds. The juniper breaks and woody draws are a sharp contrast to the grasslands, and provide critical habitat for many bird species. 
• Custer State Park - Custer State Park in the Black Hills encompasses 73,000 acres of spectacular terrain and an abundance of wildlife.
  Within the park, you’ll discover a world of adventure! Favorite outdoor activities include hiking 7,242-foot Harney Peak, mountain biking, horseback riding, rock climbing, fishing, chuck wagon suppers and jeep rides to see the bison. 
• Mammoth Site - Stand on the edge of discovery! See an active paleontological excavation of Ice Age animals. A must for families with hands-on exhibits and newly expanded exhibit hall. 
• Mount Rushmore National Memorial

• Oyate Trail - Oyate is the Lakota word for "the people" or "the nation". Oyate Ochanke, or Oyate Trail, means "a well-traveled road of nations". The Oyate Trail is truly where cultures meet. Come with us as we explore all the best of the old, wild West on Highways 50 and 18 in southern South Dakota.

• Reptile Gardens - Six miles south of Rapid City on Hwy. 16. World's largest, most beautiful reptile collection is housed among orchids under our Sky Dome! 
• Driftwood Canyon Mountain Bike Trail
  is located in the Black Hills National Forest between Hot Springs and Edgemont, SD, off of Fall River County Road 16 
• Beautiful Rushmore Cave - Closest cave to Mount Rushmore, one-hour guided tour features mighty columns, stalagmites and massive flow stones, along with ribbons, draperies and helicites. 
• Stone Quarry Canyon Mountain Bike Trail -is located in the Black Hills National Forest between Hot Springs and Edgemont, SD, off of US Highway18. It is an un-marked Forest Service Trail. You will be riding on two-track forest roads. 
• Wind Cave National Park - See buffalo, elk, deer, coyotes, antelope and prairie dogs as you drive through park to Wind Cave Headquarters. Tour of the Wind Cave itself is highly recommended. Birding information.
